I agree with your viewpoint. We work for peace not for disagreement. Believing means listening to the Church not to the world.

I wondered about this when I initially read about it, and it reminds me of what Lord Alfred Douglas Bosie said to Oscar Wilde when the latter said, “but the Catholic Church is one of the few places that is open to us”. To which Bosie prophetically replied, “they’ll be the only people who accept us at the rate we’re going.”
