Pope speaks about the new language of social communications

In an address to the Pontifical Council for Social Communications, yesterday in Vatican City, Pope Benedict XVI spoke about the new language of social communications. His words would be of interest not only to people working in social media and communications, but to linguists and others involved with communications in general. He sheds an interesting light on the changes that social communications have brought to our use of language. The address should be considered in conjunction with his earlier address for the World Communications Day.
